How much do footballers earn in the UAE? Salaries and scams to avoid

Up to about €5m a year for UAE Pro League stars, far less below that. What is known about UAE football salaries, how they compare with Saudi Arabia, and how to avoid fake trial offers.

By Jean Michel Kamga, Founder and publication director · 4 h ago · 1 min read

The top earners in the UAE Pro League are foreign stars such as Sardar Azmoun at Shabab Al Ahli, reported at around €5m a year. There are no official figures for other players; testimonies describe much lower wages in the second division. Saudi Pro League stars earn far more (Ronaldo about €208m, Sadio Mané about €40m).

Never pay for a "trial" or "visa file", check that agents are FIFA-licensed, and insist on a written contract and an international transfer certificate.
